Barbershop’s softball game a hit with Rescue League

When the staff and patrons at Mike and Joe’s Barber Shop in Glenside raised hundreds of dollars earlier this year to help a lifelong customer, Elvis Azar, pay for eye surgery for his English bulldog “Bones,” they knew there was more they could do to have an impact on the community.

“We were sitting here one day talking about how we could help Elvis give back to the Animal Rescue League,” said Eric Rodriguez, the owner of the corner shop on Schuylkill Avenue. “So we came up with the idea of a charity softball game – we are a baseball loving barbershop.”… (Full Story)
