The last Shanghai-style Barbershop in Jordon, Hong Kong

(Jordan, Hong Kong) During the 1970s, Shanghai barbershops used to dominate the haircare business in Hong Kong. But as haircuts become more modern, trendy, even more outrageous, a similar wave of salons and barbershops arose to meet these creative demands.

But there is something very authentic and inspiring when you see old school shops like the Shanghai Overseas Chinese Barbershop still standing. With all the resident barbers over the age of 60 these stylists still deliver impeccable precision and care to every customer. And these customers can be quite particular – one of the oldest customers is 93!

The greatest part of walking into this barbershop are the incredible stories you will hear – from the customers and from the barbers who have been able to experience multiple generations of history.
