Who WIll Win at the #CTBarberExpo..??

There are 6 major competitions taking place at the CT Barber Expo – on Sunday, April 17th, the winners will be decided.

The Original Barber Expo Is Back This April 17th the original barber industry showcase is back for its sixth incarnation at a new venue – The Hartford Convention Center. Taking place in downtown Hartford, Connecticut this year's CT Barber Expo will continue to inspire, entertain and showcase the culture, community and passion of the barber world. A full day event, CT Barber Expo is packed with educational seminars, vendors and, of course, the main event – 8 Barber Battles taking place live on stage. CT Barber Expo is open to seasoned stylists, barbers, students and spectators alike. Get educated, inspired and learn about why barbers from around world mark this expo at The Expo to attend year in, year out.

SPEED FADE (15 MINUTES):
Each competitor has 15 minutes to complete and will be judged and scored on the following: Speed and finished product – Haircut model must have a #2 or equivalent on the top before competition begins – The top must be taken down to a MINIMUM of 1½ – Longer hair and scissor techniques are welcome.

FADE/BEARD 2 (20 MINUTES):
Each competitor has 20 minutes to complete and will be judged and scored on the following: Model must have a #2 or higher on the crown and and some form of facial hair in order to qualify in Fade/Beard category – Model’s hair must be taken down to a MINIMUM of 1½ – Longer hair is welcome – A beard or goatee must be groomed to some extent -Contestants will be judged on finished product of Hair and Beard.

FREESTYLE DESIGN (40 MINUTES):
Each competitor has 40 minutes to complete and will be judged and scored on the following: Competitor has a option to do whatever he or she wants on model with no reference point such as paper,cell phone tablet etc – Basically only using skill and imagination.

TRADITIONAL CUT (40 MINUTES):
Each competitor has 40 minutes to execute a Traditional Cut and style. Contestant will be judged and scored on the following: Cut must incorporate scissors and clippers, CTBE is looking for gentlemen cuts: Combover, Pomps, Tapers, Part and Comps, D.A’s etc.
Haircut will be graded on cuts and finished look/style.

LADY BARBER BATTLE (40 MINUTES):
Female competitors only have 40 mins to execute a mohawk or fauxhawk with any type of part,zigzag, face etc. and will be judged and scored on the following: Best creative Mohawk/fauxhawk with design or part – Female competitors only has 40 mins to execute a mohawk or fauxhawk with any type of part,zigzag, face etc.

FANTASY SHOW STOPPER (45 MINUTES):
Competitor has 45 mins to create a haircut with some sort of theme to it sports, movie, cartoon whatever. We are looking for costumes, dress and clothing to match their creation as well. Upon finishing the competitor will address the entire audience with model and explain the look that inspired them.
