Join Professional Beauty Association’s #IAMLicensed Campaign

April 30 is National Hairstylist Appreciation Day and to celebrate, we are making April #IAMLicensed Month – a full 30 days celebrating YOU & your profession! This month we are encouraging licensed professionals from across the nation to be proud of their profession and to join the I Am a Professional, I Am Licensed movement!The “I Am” movement was created by the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) to inform licensed professionals about the risks of deregulation and the importance of health, safety and accountability within the beauty industry.

Along with joining the movement, we are encouraging licensed professionals to use social media to get the word out about #IAMLicensed month!

You can join the #IAMLicensed campaign by doing the following:

• Post using #IAmLicensed on your Facebook, Twitter or Instagram
• Film a 15-second video on your Instagram account saying what being licensed means to you & end the video with “I Am a Professional. I Am Licensed.” (Make sure to use #IAmLicensed!)
• Change your default picture on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to the I Am Licensed image to show your support! (Download here)

• Complete hundreds of hours of schooling
• Learn proper techniques and best practices
• Graduate from a cosmetology program
• Successfully pass their state board exam
• Practice proper sanitation procedures to minimize the threat of viral and bacterial infections
• Care about the industry and the safety of their clients!
