Meet Gerald Smith. Better known as Gary. Meet his son, Gerald Kramer Smith. Better known as Jerry Kramer Smith. He’s the proprietor of Jerry Kramer’s Barbershop on South Chambers Street.

There’s a purpose to all this name declension. And it started with Lance Armstrong.

I spent all Thursday morning trying to talk to people about the now-defamed Tour de France superstar. I envisioned ruminations on our ideals of the hero and wanted to ask if we too often mistake incredible individual accomplishment for heroic action. (Full Story)
