Chicago Black News recently highlighted the Hyde Park Barbershop and Hair Salon. The barbershop is now a hot tourist spot since it became known that President Barack Obama has been a steady customer for over 17 years.
Hyde Park Hair Salon has been in operation since 1927 and has maintained a loyal and successful clientele including celebrities like Spike Lee, Phil Gates, Devon Hester, Bill Veeck, Suge Knight, Muhammad Ali, Harold Washington, and (of course) President Barack Obama.
We wish this 1-minute video was longer and had an actual interview with the shop’s owner. But at minimum, its a nice glimpse of the “other office” where America’s most powerful man holds court.
