Beck believes that an assistant should not be hired before the salon is fully booked. Once it does get booked, find a student, teach them, and have them to help you. In that way, it will not be looked at as a partnership.
Regarding hiring, Beck mentioned that he never hires anyone right away. It is best to get to know them first by hanging out with them and/or researching them on social media sites to evaluate their character.
