It amazes us here at BARBinc that many barbers and industry people still do not know what “Movember” is…
(If you’re among them, then don’t worry… We won’t tell 😉
Movember is an international movement to raise awareness and research funds for prostate and testicular cancer – a touchy subject for many men. And this week, we’re featuring articles every day to get you up-to-speed on this global event.
Initiated in 2003, the Movember Foundation asks men all over the world to register at Movember.com and take four simple actions:
- Start clean-shaven on the 1st of November
- Grow a moustache during the entire month
- Ask friends and family to support the moustache-growing process, and
- Raise funds (and awareness) whenever the opportunity arises
Although Movember is NOT universally celebrated in the US, it is very big internationally and in recent years, West Coast barbers (as usual) have led the way in promoting this important event.
