#UBITrade2015 was anything but minimalistic. This weekend the BARBinc team attended the Ubiquitous Hair and Health Trade show for the first time. And we came away more than impressed!
Favorite words of the day: Elegant, Well organized, Educational and Entertaining.
This event accomplished the painstaking tasks of combining part natural hair show, part health and education show, and part spiritual revival. Women embracing natural hair go well beyond hair and make it a lifestyle change – going natural and healthy in many areas of their life. While this may not be the largest natural hair event, it was truly assembled to provide the most for both the attendees and the vendors.
It’s like a church revival here this morning @UbiquitousTrade. Violinist Kendall Isadore bringing it! pic.twitter.com/XKnCgMDhUT

The event was well represented by industry Stalwarts like Milani, Design Essentials, Clairol and Luster; but also allowed opportunities for many up and coming brands and startup brands, like Jane Carter and FranNgong.
One BARBinc favorite was TheHonePot.co, which left BARBinc Co-Founder Dale Dowdie commenting “it’s just one of those interesting startups with potential.”
Natural hair lovers and consumers were ubiquitous; meaning they were everywhere! We know the natural hair consumer is educated and willing to experiment, but they also tend to be very vocal in their support when they find a brand that works well for them.
But we must admit, the Ubiquitous Hair and Health Trade show was coordinated down to the last detail. The venue was excellent. Good lighting, elegant artwork, nice spacing both in terms of the venue and between exhibitor booths, great facilities and break out rooms, even the program guide was informative and well designed. There was even a Man Cave with a pool table and lots of seating, which ironically was was overrun by women!
The highlight of the weekend was the LIVE Ledisi concert during the show on Saturday. This concert left our team speechless!
We have to say thank you to Germaine Bolds-Lefridge for pulling together such a great event and inviting BARBinc to cover the show. We cannot call out all vendors and sponsors but we have to say that we came away from the show truly impressed and look forward to following the show and the natural hair industry for years to come.
